The Anesthesia: Various types of anesthesia can be employed for liposuction. We Tumescent Liposuction: This is our favorite form of liposuction since the ultrasonic liposuction and power cannula assisted liposuction does not fullfill our expectations. The power and the ultrasound cannulas behave like large caliber cannulas and remain hollow. The Surgery: The surgery takes between 60 and 120 minutes since removal of more than 3500 cc is not optimal. Major complications are possible if large ammounts are aspirated. The liposuction is done through small incisions (3-5 mm) which will not leave any major scars. Afterwards the excess fat is suctioned out using long thin rods called "Cannulas". After Surgery: Swelling and bruising can last for seven to fourteen days. Most patients are back to work after five to ten days. There is no direct pain. The liposuctioned place will stay tender (pain if pressure applied) for 6-7 days. You have to wear a compression garment for 2 weeks. Results:There is no perfect liposuction. After every liposuction hollows and dents will remain. This is true for every patient but mainly occurs in older ages due to weakend skin laxity. The following can may happen after a liposuction:
